What the Frank is an understatement.
I'm sure it isn't news to many but Bush has been portrayed as the bastion of intelligence but this? I am not sure if Bush is ignorant, stupid or a fool. I hope he is stupid because this has got to be the most foolish statement I have heard.
Lets follow the logic for a moment. If a "free-market" is desired then you should apply the principles to get it should you not? When I make a cake I use the principles to prepare it and bake it. If I used "principles" of making jello over making cake I might still get something yummy but I'm not getting cake.
So where is the problem with Bush's statement? Maybe I am wrong but I'm going to with:
The answer is no. Emphatically NO! It is not a "free-market" system. There is very little free about our market. Your are forced to pay taxes on purchases and on your income. You get taxed through inflation every time the Federal Reserver prints more money than is being taken out of circulation. What Bush and President Elect Obama are fighting to "save" is the goverment welfare for businesses and special interests groups.
Many are upset at Bernard Madoff for his $50 Billion swendal, and reasonably so, but why is there no one upset at fractional reserve banking, or the Federal Reserve? Their ponzi scheme is infanetly larger. Maybe that is the problem. Bernard you should have gone for more so you could be "to big to fail".

- Bush was never a Free-market person.
- We haven't had a free market for a very long time.
- Bush likes government intervention and the government has had their hand in this business long before this problem had arisen.
