Do you feel a draft?

Military.com has a story of a group of crusty old men asking the question if it is time to "consider reinstituting the draft". Apparently our all volunteer army is to costly for them. I wonder this will cause a seen like in Enemy at the Gates where the Russian officers shoot the conscripts that don't feel like dieing for their country?

I have an idea. Why don't we pull out of Iraq. Close those bases around the world and bring our troops home? England has a military. The SAS are a fine bunch and will do well to protect their country. They don't need us there. Same can be said of the rest of Europe. If it makes them feel any better they can open up some more embassies. But this! This foolishness is just asking to piss off the American people.

Which maybe this is a good thing. Maybe this can bring about revolution that might actually make some good changes? Or maybe I'll just find out how much of the cowards we might be?

I say no to the draft. And what they heck when did we ever declair war to even institute a draft?
