Dawn of War 2: I really want to like this game but...

I find it difficult. Not difficult to play but there seems to be various technical problems.

  1. It uses Windows Live to connect people to gether. Frankly Windows live seems to be flacky when dealing with a network. I've put my system in the DMZ and still cannot connect. My firewall rules are not that strengent as my children have no problem playing other games like Team Fortress.
  2. This game seems Beta at best. If you log into forums you will quickly find the "Technical Support" and then be innundated with the number of people who have monster systems that cannot play the game with out it crashing. Now I do not have a current supper computer, but my Q6600 Quad core, 4 GB of memory, and Nvidia 8800GT should be more than enough to play this game. Yet even on the lowest settings it still crashes. I'm not alone in this as many people are experiencing this crash while playing.
On the bright side I'd love to say this game rocks. The ability to use the terrain around you and blow up walls or use them for cover is rather fun. It also allows you to pull off some nice tactics with the use of suppression fire. Graphics look good. And sound is great but I find my self getting more and more frustrated with the game. Relic/THQ usually do a great job. I am disappointed in this release. Oh and Windows Live SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
