Baptists and "Race"

Looks like some Texans in Waco were not happy with the result of the elections: "Baptist Leader: Baylor Incident Must Spark Honesty about Racism". I'm not happy about it either but I won't say it is because of a "Black" man is president. I'd be tickled pink if Clarence Thomas were to be president.

It is nice to know that everyone, black and white, goes by the "one drop rule" which certifies Barack's "blackness". But that is another issue.

According to the article some people hung a noose and burned some Obama signs. I can agree with sign burning if they owned the signs. If not then it's destruction of property and they should face the law. The noose thing, though tacky, does not necessitate a "racially" motivated issue. If they would have gone with the burning cross then I'd agree it was due to race but a noose? A noose just shows you want someone dead (Call out the Secret Service in this case) but it doesn't mean race.

The old Picante commercials always said "get a rope" but they were never talking about hanging blackman unless he happened to be the cook.

I do not disagree with the idea of the DVD put out by the BCE. I think it would be good for many to understand where the church has been and what the chruch is doing. But I question this jump on "race" being the target of this event? "Hate" is not just a racially motivated issue. Some people really don't like Barack. I think he is a socialist and would have preferred to see him lose. Then again McCain was a fascist so I didn't want to see him win either, but I digress.

I find it troubling when people are quick to say race is the motivating factor. Maybe in this case it really was. Admittiedly I'm going by what information the article gave. But it doesn't say that the events were specifically racially motivated. It is only assumed. The truth may not be "I hate black people". It may just be "I hate this guy and he happens to be black."
