PCWorld has a note about Sweden's upcoming "e-mail, phone monitoring" law. Fortunately a swiss group, Stoppa FRA-lagen [SW][EN] is trying to get the word out and get it stopped.
Apparently the Swiss are taking a page from the American's and using the "external threats" shtick to implement what many would consider China's early phase of it's electronic wall. Sure the Swiss government of now might not take advantage of such things but what about the government of tomorrow? This is why I want limited government. Democrats and republicans have good intentions for the most part, but liberty doesn't need good intentions, it needs... well... liberty.
I pray Stoppa FRA-lagen will be successful. It would be a shame for the Swiss' peaceful country to be routed from within by a two-bit dictator that is able to wrestle the reigns of power because of some earlier government well-wishers making bad choices.
